General Meeting: Wed. Oct 2nd, 6pm-8pm at White River State Park
We have a unique general meeting coming up! Join us for a fascinating Art Walk in White River State Park (WRSP). The beautiful sculptures are permanent public art pieces designed by artisans from across the country. As we walk through the park, our guide will teach us the history of this art and the volunteer opportunities at WRSP. We will gather at “The Tent” which is right outside the WRSP garage and near the visitors’ center.
Indiana Wish Fundraiser Gala Sat. Sept 21st Shifts 4:30-11pm at the Indianapolis Marriott North
Portrait of Wishes: Bourbon, Bling & Bowties is a fantastic evening of bourbon tasting, a scrumptious meal, and silent auction to raise funds that help us grant wishes for Hoosier children with life-threatening illness. Volunteers help Indiana Wish to put smiles on children’s faces and hope in the hearts of their parents, family, and friends.
Junior Achievement of Central Indiana Job Spark Sept 24th thru 27th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds
JA JobSpark is a multi-day, hands-on career expo impacting over 13,000 Indianapolis eighth graders. The JA JobSpark initiative includes in-class curriculum and activities prior to and after attending the event. JA JobSpark is meant to “spark” an interest in students and get them excited for their future.
Monumental Kids Movement 5K - Wed, Sept 25 3pm-8:30pm at Lucas Oil Stadium
Beyond Monumental is a not-for-profit actively supporting youth health and well-being by providing access to exceptional events and programs centered around the sport of running. This event celebrates the students participating in their school-based running clubs.
ZooBoo Sept 25th thru Oct 31st at the Indianapolis Zoo
ZooBoo is a fun family experience for itty-bitty ghouls and goblins as well as the bigger kids. October weather means active animals, colorful foliage and a new season to explore. Combine that with engaging, hands-free activities, spooktacular costumes and trick-or-treating, and you’ve got an unforgettable family tradition.
Peace Learning Center
Peace Learning Center furthers its mission to build healthy communities by teaching children, youth, and adults how to make healthier choices for themselves which then enable them to focus on creating more peaceful communities and, ultimately, a more peaceful and healthy world. Peace Learning Center offers exciting volunteer opportunities for individuals and groups!

Presented by Stein, this important fundraiser provides critical funding for Dress for Success Indianapolis. Their mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. The purpose of their organization is to provide women with the supportive services they need to make life transitions that result in achieving self-sufficiency and socioeconomic advancement.
American Heart Association: Indianapolis Heart Walk Sat. Sept. 21st 6am-11am at Victory Field
It’s possible that heart disease and stroke will hit the road in your lifetime, but we need your help to make it happen. The American Heart Association runs on volunteer power! We could use some extra hands leading up to and on the day of the event. Whatever your skills and interests are, we have an opportunity that’s right for you.
Center for Performing Arts Volunteer Training - Oct 1st 6-8pm in Carmel
The Center for Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization responsible for the operation and programming of a multidisciplinary performing arts campus in Carmel, IN. The facilities include the Palladium, the Tarkington and the Studio Theater. The next opportunity for usher training is Oct 1, 6-8PM.

All are welcome to the October General Meeting of the Indianapolis Ambassadors hosted by White River State Park. Come learn about the park and opportunities to volunteer. White River State Park is an urban park situated downtown along the eastern and western banks of its namesake White River; the park covers 267 acres. With seven world-class attractions, miles of trails and acres of open greenspace, there are distinctive experiences for every visitor.

Celebrate Science - Volunteering Matters

I registered to volunteer at Celebrate Science Indiana and received a call asking if I knew any other Indy Ambassadors who might be available to help. I volunteered last year, and I had a blast! I helped kids build giant stacks of cups, parachutes, and (personally) enjoyed the baby animals.Newly reported opportunities are highlighted.

Strength in Our Streets CrossFit Competition Sat. Sept 21st 6:30am-4pm at Park Tudor School
Strength in our Streets is an annual cross fit competition to benefit the Wheeler Mission and their undertaking to support the homeless, addicted, and those struggling with issues like hunger. Teams of ten come from across Indiana and each raised over $1,500 to support this vital resource for those in need.

Want to witness first-hand the eyes of children light up as they perform hands-on science? Celebrate Science Indiana (CSI) needs YOUR help! Indiana’s Premiere Science Festival, Celebrate Science Indiana, is taking place on Saturday, October 12th in the Exposition Hall at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The festival aims to highlight the importance and value of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, research, and careers to our Indiana youth and all Hoosiers.
Greater Indy Habitat for Humanity unites the community with people in need to provide the life-changing opportunity to purchase and own simple, quality, affordable homes. Habitat homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and independence they need to build a better life for themselves and their families.
No matter your skillset or level of expertise, we have a place for you. No experience is necessary! Just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn and we will guide you on everything you need to know. By the end of your volunteer experience, we hope you leave tired and inspired!

Diverse Opportunities - Volunteering Matters

I would like to share with you one of the reasons I love volunteering with the Ambassadors. The diversity of opportunities is amazing. You can volunteer to work at running events like the mini-marathon or Wine at the Line; art fairs like Penrod, Indiana Artisans or the Broad Ripple Art Fair; sporting events like the US National Swimming Trials; the theater at IRT, the symphony with ISO or at the Carmel Palladium; the Heartland Film Festival; or fund raising galas like Noble Evening in the Garden, Zoobilation or Museum by Moonlight. There truly is something for everyone and honestly quite a lot for me.Newly reported opportunities are highlighted.

Rising Pursuit Services' Groove-a-thon Sat. Aug. 31st 9am-9pm
Rising Pursuit Services LLC is dedicated to providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. To raise funds for transportation needs, they are hosting an all-day music marathon with various activities for individuals with disabilities. Volunteers are needed to set up between events and/or make calls for donations.

16th Annual Geist Half Marathon, 10K & 5K Sat. Sep. 14 at Geist Reservoir
The Geist Half Marathon, 10K & 5K races showcases the beauty of Geist Reservoir with stunning water views, tree covered trails, and waterfront bridges. Multiple volunteer opportunities and shifts available on Friday, September 13 with packet pickup, and Saturday, September 14 with the Geist 5K, 10K, & Half Marathon.
The Bosma Visionary Opportunities Foundation is a charity that serves as the philanthropic fundraising source for the Bosma Center for Visionary Solutions. The Center for Visionary Solutions is the largest provider of comprehensive vision rehabilitation programs in the state of Indiana. The foundation also raises critical funds to support the Senator Charles E. Bosma Legacy Fund, which is dedicated to building financial sustainability to continue to create opportunities for people with vision loss into the future.

Oktoberfest is just around the corner, and we’re excited to bring the vibrant traditions of largest Indy’s largest German Party! As we prepare for an unforgettable celebration filled with music, food, and fun, we need your help to make this event truly spectacular. While you're there, enjoy Claus' Sausages, chops and fricks, GAK housemade sides including our famous Kartoffelpuffer, real German music, sing-alongs, games, and Indy's only German folk dance group performing, and teaching attendees. And of course authentic German Bier.
Penrod Arts Fair Sat. Sept. 7th shifts from 5:30am to 6pm at Newfields
The Penrod Arts Fair is one of the largest single-day arts fairs in the country. Taking place on the Newfields grounds since 1967, the fair welcomes approximately 20,000 patrons to enjoy live music, food, drink, and the wares of hundreds of artists. Please join us the first Saturday after Labor Day for “Indiana’s Nicest Day”.
St. Joan of Arc French Market Festival - Sept. 7th 12pm-11:30pm
The St. Joan of Arc French Market is a one-day, free-admission outdoor festival featuring authentic French dishes prepared on-site, French wine, live music all day, an artisan craft fair, a raffle, a children’s area and Mass said in French in the 100-year-old church. Please volunteer and feel free to invite any other friends, family members or students (age 13 and above) to volunteer as well.
American Diabetes Association: Step Out Walk - Sept 14th 6 am-2 pm at the Grand Park Sports Campus in Westfield
Step Out Walk to Stop Diabetes® is the premier walking fundraising event of the American Diabetes Association® (ADA) that creates a sense of unity and shared purpose in the fight to end diabetes. To have a successful event we will need at least 100 volunteers throughout the day. Come join us in supporting those living with diabetes!
IndyHub's IndyVolved Volunteer Opportunity Expo - Thurs. Sept 19th 4:30pm-8pm at the Indiana State Fairgrounds

Indiana Sports Corp: Corporate Challenge Aug 22nd-24th at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
Indiana Sports Corp is looking for volunteers at our Corporate Challenge event this summer. Corporate Challenge is a chance for companies around Indianapolis to come together to work on team building and camaraderie. Event activities include everything from cornhole, total body fitness, running, obstacle courses, to yoga and Zumba.
Feast of Lanterns - Sat. Aug. 24th 4-11pm at Spades Park (near east side)
The Feast of Lanterns is a historic festival based on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis. Its earliest incarnations in the late 1800s were of small gatherings and decorated front porches in nearby neighborhoods like Woodruff Place. By 1909 these neighborhood events had morphed into a single, larger festival that took place in Spades Park.

Museum by Moonlight Sat. Aug. 24th 7P-11:00P at the Children's Museum
The Museum largest single night fundraiser of the year is “Museum” by Moonlight”. Join Indy Ambassadors as we serve with the Indianapolis Children’s Museum to raise funds, ensuring that a crown jewel of Indianapolis continues to be accessible to all children and families.
Quest for the West Art Show & Sale Sept.6-7 at the Eiteljorg Museum
About 60 Artist Sale Assistants are needed on Sept 7th from 4pm to 7:30pm. Currently in its 19th year, Quest for the West Art Show and Sale brings together 50 contemporary Western artists, collectors, volunteers, and Western art enthusiasts from across the country for a weekend of programming that includes the museum’s largest annual fundraiser.
Volunteers are required to attend one of two mandatory trainings on 9/4 at 5:30 p.m. or 9/5 at 10:30 a.m.

Indiana Diaper Bank's mission is to eliminate diaper need in our community by providing a reliable and adequate supply of diapering essentials. Simply put, we provide children with diapers—the basic necessity that every child deserves in order to be healthy and happy.
When you volunteer at Indiana Diaper Bank, you’re helping us prepare over 40,000 diapers to leave our facility each month. Your time and talent will create social change in our community by helping families receive the basic diapering essentials they need to thrive.

IndyFringe Theatre Festival - August 15 thru 25th - Cultural District and Fountain Square
Ushers and Bartenders Needed
About the Show: Discover the joy, the magic, and the drama of the IndyFringe Theatre Festival in Indianapolis. This annual celebration of the performing arts transforms the Cultural District and Fountain Square for 11 continuous days during the summer and features genre-defying performances of every kind. The annual Festival is one of the Midwest's most vital and vibrant arts events, from dance to cabaret, children’s theatre to stand-up comedy, and approximately 300 individual performances.

IndyFringe Theatre Festival - Volunteering Matters

I am happy to be writing this week's newsletter intro to tell you all more about our festival, the vital role it plays in our local performing arts community and the lives of the artists who live and create within it, and how you can get involved to help us bring it to life this summer. IndyFringe aspires to be the Midwestern hub for all performing arts, cultivating creative talent, inviting a sense of discovery, and creating a culture of community and celebration in the City of Indianapolis. No event has helped us toward this goal more than our annual festival, which is happening this year, August 15th-25th. Each year, IndyFringe welcomes hundreds of performers from all over the world onto six Indy stages to perform one-hour shows spanning the genre spectrum - comedy, drama, magic, dance, burlesque, standup, Shakespeare, and so much more.Newly reported opportunities are highlighted.

IndyFringe: Bigfoot Saves the World July 18th thru 28th
Ushers and Bartenders Needed.
About the show: Bigfoot is back and better than ever! This new, two-act expansion of Cryptid Entertainment’s cult-classic Fringe show, Bigfoot Saves America, is a campy action comedy set in the late 1970s. The evil mastermind known as The Mothman is on the rise, and it’s Bigfoot’s duty to save not only America but the entire World. With help from Theodore Roosevelt and the FBI, Bigfoot falls in love, finds his true family, and does so with gusto.
DNR State Fair Fishin' Pond Aug 2nd thru 18th shifts 9:30a-7:30p at the Indiana State Fair
Fishing Volunteers Needed! Spend of a few hours helping children learn about the joy of catching fish. The DNR State Fishin’ Pond, started in 2006, gives children ages 5-17 the chance to fish for free during the State Fair. Each year, thousands of kids fish at the pond. For many of them, it is their first fishing experience.
RUN(317) Mass Ave Race benefitting Girls on the Run - Thur. Aug 3rd 5p-8p
Volunteers are needed for RUN(317) Mass Ave! Girls on the Run of Central Indiana was chosen to be the charity partner of the RUN 317 race taking place on Thursday August 1st.

Girls on the Run - Volunteering Matters

We are an empowering organization for girls in grades three through eight. Girls on the Run inspires girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun experience-based curriculum that creatively integrates running. Not only are the girls learning about themselves and their community, but they are also training for a celebratory 5k. I love being involved with Girls on the Run because we are having such a positive impact on girls. I also enjoy meeting and working with the hundreds of volunteers that are so passionate about our organization. From volunteer coaches in the schools to volunteers who organize and man our 5k events at the end of the fall and spring seasons. It is such a joy to see the smiles from the girls during the program and it is also so fun to see the satisfaction that the volunteers receive from their involvement with Girls on the Run. Momentum Indy - Fri & Sat, 7/12-13 in downtown Indy
IU Health Momentum Indy is a two-day cycling celebration of bike races, bike rides, food, music, and family festivities in downtown Indy. Serving as the 5th race of the American Criterium Cup, professional cyclists will give it their all to take the podium! Volunteers are essential in providing a safe, well-organized, and fun event experience. It takes hundreds of volunteers to ensure the safety and organization behind the IU Health Momentum Indy.

Big Bounce America - Fri, 7/19 thru Sun, 7/21, Shifts 8:30 to 4pm in Southeast Indy
The event features ‘The World’s Largest Bounce House’ and seven massive inflatable attractions. Covering an area of over 24,000 sq. ft., it has giant slides, ball pits, climbing towers and basketball hoops. Volunteers work alongside crew members to assist with check-in, pumping up the crowd, staffing the inflatables and overseeing the safety of participants. In return for a 4 hour shift volunteers receive 3 ‘Access All Areas’ passes to enjoy with family and friends.
Indy Shorts International Film Festival - Tue 7/23 - Sun, 7/28 at Heartland Film
The Indy Shorts International Film Festival presented by Heartland Film is the largest shorts festival in the Midwest. This six-day summer festival celebrates the unique, creative and captivating art of short films in a wide range of categories, including horror, comedy, documentary, narrative, animated and more. Project Will, a nonprofit organization that supports young adults with behavioral health challenges, is conducting a rummage sale event this Saturday, July 6th located at 7172 Graham Road. Trail Building with Hoosier Hikers Council
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. Since 1995 the Hoosier Hikers Council has been building, repairing, and maintaining hiking trails in the state of Indiana. Join the Hoosier Hikers Council on the third of each month (through December) to support The Nature Conservancy for a day in the woods! They will continue work on the new trail at TNC’s Green’s Bluff Nature Preserve in Owen County.

Downtown Indy's Fourth Fest - Thur. July 4th 6-11pm
Volunteers are needed for Downtown Indy’s Fourth Fest. The street party begins at 6:00 p.m. with food trucks, ice cream and beverages on North St. between Meridian St. and Pennsylvania St. Downtown Indy, Inc.’s festival stage will feature live musical performances. Fireworks begin at 10:00 p.m. and the launch site remains at the 500 N Meridian building with optimal viewing areas on the Indiana War Memorial grounds and American Legion Mall. Fireworks will be synced to popular patriotic and themed music aired on local radio stations.

Indiana State Museum and Historic Site
This statewide museum system has 12 locations, including a central museum in downtown Indianapolis and 11 historic sites across the state of Indiana. Each location offers interesting, educational and unique experiences. Visitors can engage with the past and connect it to the present, carrying their newfound knowledge and experiences with them long after their visit. I volunteer about a half-dozen times a year. Some of these are one-off things for me, which is great because I get to see something new. But a few have become ongoing interests that I have returned to over the years: FFA Convention, Heartland International Film Festival, and Indianapolis Zoo events. Either way, I always meet and work with great people who enjoy similar activities. I served on the Ambassadors Board for several years, which was another opportunity to work alongside other terrific, like-minded folks. Indy Vegfest is free of charge. Our mission is to educate the public about the compassionate, environmental, and health facets of a vegan lifestyle. In addition to a large annual event, we have year-round educational activities planned, such as free plant-based cooking classes led by Indy-area chefs.
Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana
Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana is an organization that delivers smiles and nutritious meals to homebound individuals in the region. For a small fee, clients receive two medically-tailored meals each weekday, prepared by premier healthcare institutions. These meals are delivered by dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteers. The organization ensures good nutrition by customizing meals for each individual client.

Indianapolis Animal Care Services
Our dedicated team of volunteers come in weekly to care for hundreds of animals. In 2023 alone, volunteers donated over 23,500 hours; but more help is desperately needed. Some examples of volunteer opportunities include walking dogs, caring for cats, providing enrichment for cats and dogs, participating in our “Doggy Day Out” program, staffing events, supporting medical, and taking animal photos.

The festival takes place on June 22 and 23 from 10am-5pm both days. If you’re unfamiliar with the event, we host over 140 Indigenous artists from all over the US and Canada to sell their art, pottery, jewelry, etc! There’s also food trucks, performances, and art activities! We have MANY volunteer spots open over the course of the weekend that we need your help filling. The great thing about volunteering just a few hours of your time is that you get into the festival for free! There's a brief training you'll want to attend prior to your volunteer shift, but if you can't attend it, no worries! I can catch you up. Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana
At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Indiana, we provide a supportive home away from home for families of children receiving medical care at Riley Children’s Health and other area hospitals. When families have a sick child, we provide comfort, care and kindness when they need it most. Our House provides all the comforts of home, plus a community of support, and our Family Rooms are places for families to rest during the long days of testing or treatment. We offer volunteer opportunities for individuals as well as groups. You can volunteer one-time or on an on-going basis. The volunteer services that are needed most include guest services and culinary crew volunteers.

32nd Annual Eiteljorg Indian Market and Festival – June 22nd and June 23rd
At the annual Indian Market and Festival, we host over 150 Indigenous artists from all over the US and Canada to sell their art, pottery, jewelry, etc! There’s also food trucks, performances, and art activities! There is a mandatory training you must attend if you would like to volunteer at the market. The mandatory training falls on Thursday, June 13, there is an afternoon option (12:30-1:30pm) and an evening option (5:30-6:30pm).
Prism Project Summer Camp at the Center for Performing Arts
The Prism Project is a performing arts program developed by Ball State University and designed to be physically, developmentally and cognitively appropriate for youth with disabilities. The program is a four-week camp culminating in a final performance. In 2024, this performance will take place Sunday, June 23, in the Studio Theater at the Center for the Performing Arts. We are looking for volunteers to serve as “Buddies” during the camp.

Our roster of athletes includes Olympians and Olympic hopefuls. It will be quite the competition! The Indianapolis Ambassadors will have a large presence to support EDI and their mission to “promote environmental protection, conservation of natural resources, and sustainable living.” Every year, we volunteer for this this event. Indiana Wish
The mission of Indiana Wish is to grant wishes to Indiana children ages 3 – 18 diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. At Indiana Wish, we create hope amid hardship. Hope can be a powerful force in the health and healing of the children we serve. Research studies have shown that children who have received wishes have less distress, fewer episodes of depression, and reduced anxiety. All of this, in turn, can improve their quality of life, foster hope and resilience, and potentially lead to better health outcomes.
Indiana Wish is an Indiana-focused wish-granting organization. Since 1984, we have granted more than 3,500 wishes to Hoosier children in 88 of Indiana’s 92 counties. Indiana Wish is not affiliated with any other local or national wish-granting organization. Funding for wishes is made possible through the support of individual giving, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events. Working together, we can impact even more Hoosier children and families throughout Indiana.

U.S. Olympic Swimming Team Trials - June 15th thru 23rd at Lucas Oil Stadium
For the first time ever, the event will be staged on a football field, as Lucas Oil Stadium will be home to the nine-day Olympic-qualifying meet in front of hundreds of thousands of families, friends, and fans. Remarkably, two temporary olympic sizes pools will be built on the field for this event.
Indianapolis 5K & Monumental Mile - Sat. Jun 22 - 5:30am to 1pm shifts - near Indiana State House
Volunteers are needed for the 2nd annual 5K and 11th annual Monumental Mile. The 5k course is 3.1 miles long and includes the Indiana War Memorial, Indianapolis Central Library, and University Park.
The Monumental Mile includes a Youth & High School Mile, Masters Mile, Open Mile, Elite Female Mile, and Elite Male Mile. The Monumental Mile also includes a Doggie Dash that benefits Indianapolis Animal Care.
Indiana Historical Society
The Indiana Historical Society collects and preserves Indiana’s unique stories; brings Hoosiers together in remembering and sharing the past; and inspires a future grounded in our state’s uniting values and principles. IHS is a Smithsonian Affiliate and a member of the International Coalition of Sites of Conscience.

Spark!Fishers is an annual, weeklong festival. It includes a 5k run/walk and kids fun run, Car & Art Show, free concerts on Tuesday night and Friday night, and Saturday’s Street Festival – the biggest day of the week – with a parade, multiple stages of live music, food, drink, and artisan vendors, art displays, kids and teen zones, and so much more! Spark!Fishers offers more than 100 volunteer opportunities, providing a role to fit every interest and ability.
Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art
The Eiteljorg houses an extensive collection of visual arts by indigenous peoples of the Americas, as well as Western art. The museum offers a fascinating exploration of Native American history, culture, and the American West through its diverse collection of art and cultural objects. Volunteers become part of the Eiteljorg team and help enhance programs, events, and exhibitions. When you become a volunteer, you can expect to meet visitors from all over.

Bike to the 500 - Sunday, May 26, Shifts 5:15am-5:30pm at the Amp at 16
The greatest way to get to the Greatest Spectacle in Racing is by riding a bike to the 500. We need volunteers to help with setup, check in, ride marshaling, valet bike parking, and leading the return rides. Please help so we can continue this exciting event.

500 Festival
The 500 Festival, a not-for-profit community organization, was created in 1957 to organize civic events celebrating the greatest race in the world. Over the past 60+ years, the 500 Festival has grown to become one of the largest festivals in the nation. Each year, 500,000 Hoosiers and visitors participated in festival activities throughout the month of May. Whether they were athletes running the Mini-Marathon, fourth-grade students participating in the Education Program, families enjoying the state’s largest festival for kids, or spectators being dazzled by one of the nation’s premier parades, they were there, celebrating the legacy.

Second Helpings
For 25 years, Second Helpings has accepted donated perishable and overstocked food to prepare nutritious meals for thousands of hungry children and adults every day, and distributes them free of charge through local social service agencies in central Indiana. Second Helpings also trains unemployed and underemployed adults for meaningful careers in the culinary industry.

IndyFringe: Herding Cats- Mar 22nd thru 30th
Volunteer Usher and Bartenders are needed. About the Show: Stella, a plucky housecat, is willing to do anything to save the career of her beloved but struggling human owner - including deploying the fabled and dreaded "nuclear option." But she'll have to convince her fellow cats to go along with her radical plan. And matters get complicated when Stella's worst fear - a dog - is introduced into the household.

Italian Festival Kitchen and Food Prep June 10th thru 15th at Holy Rosary Catholic Church
With large crowds and new festival areas in need of volunteer staffing, we are asking for a two-fold increase in volunteer sign-ups compared to previous years. We would love to have enough people sign up that every volunteer has an opportunity to not only serve, but to also enjoy some of the wonderful food, entertainment, and relaxation that the Italian festival has become known for. From morning to night, revel in the harmonious blend of local music while savoring the city’s flavorful delights. This family-friendly, festive celebration unfolds against the iconic backdrop of White River State Park, creating a perfect setting for a memorable weekend.
Westminster Neighborhood Services Inc
Westminster Neighborhood Services provides education support, access to basic needs, and community connections to empower neighbors and strengthen youth and families on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis. Westminster’s holistic approach to serve the entire family is important to the thousands of neighbors that come through the doors annually. The relationship built with the families is so important; at times we might be the only ones cheering on these families and helping them navigate hard situations they face daily. 42% of the neighborhood live below the poverty level and 21% live with an annual income less than $10,000. That comes with barriers that they need help overcoming, and Westminster’s services are essential to help families break down those barriers and break free from the obstacles holding them back in life.

2024 Central Zone East Speedo Sectionals from March 21-24 at the IU Natatorium
Leading into Olympic Trials, the IU Natatorium will be hosting a number of prestigious events. The IU Natatorium starts its hosting season with the 2024 Central Zone East Speedo Sectionals from March 21-24. This is a USA Swimming regional championship and one of the fastest meets in the country for USA Swimming’s up-and-coming athletes. Speedo Sectionals is also one of the first times this spring where athletes can continue to qualify for Olympic Trials. We are expecting a record number of athletes trying to achieve their goal of swimming in Lucas Oil Stadium.
53rd Annual Sam Costa Half and Quarter Marathons Sat. March 23rd
The Sam Costa Half & Quarter Marathons are brought to you by Indy Runners and Walkers, Indiana's largest RRCA-affiliated running and walking club. Volunteers are the lifeblood of any event, and this is especially true of the Sam Costa Half Marathon and Quarter Marathon. We need over 100 volunteers to give their time to assist with these races.

500 Festival Rookie Run May 11th 12pm-4pm at Monument Circle
Rookie Run is a non-competitive fun run for children ages 3–10 that takes place annually in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The run is part of the 500 Festival Kids’ Day Fun Run, which aims to promote fitness, healthy living, and community involvement.
The Rookie Run will take place at Kids’ Day, Indiana’s largest free outdoor festival for kids! The Salesforce and JPMorgan Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day attracts thousands to Monument Circle on May 11, featuring over 40 exhibitors and tons of fun, educational and interactive activities.
