IndyFringe Theatre Festival - August 15 thru 25th - Cultural District and Fountain Square
Ushers and Bartenders Needed
About the Show: Discover the joy, the magic, and the drama of the IndyFringe Theatre Festival in Indianapolis. This annual celebration of the performing arts transforms the Cultural District and Fountain Square for 11 continuous days during the summer and features genre-defying performances of every kind. The annual Festival is one of the Midwest's most vital and vibrant arts events, from dance to cabaret, children’s theatre to stand-up comedy, and approximately 300 individual performances.

Join us at our General Meeting at the Children's Museum. We will receive training and a tour of the Museum in preparation for their largest fundraiser of the year; “Museum by Moonlight” Saturday August 24th – 7:00pm-11:55pm.
On Aug. 24, this magical realm will be open to adults 21 and up for an enchanted night to celebrate nearly a century of inspiring moments, joyful discoveries, and fairytale-like wonder. This extravagant affair featuring open bars, food bites from some of the swankiest places in town, silent action, art, silent disco, and the entire Museum is open for adults only from 7:00pm- 11:00PM
Peace Learning Center’s Annual Gala Brunch Sun Aug. 18th 10:30am-1:30pm at the Artsgarden Downtown

IndyFringe: Bigfoot Saves the World July 18th thru 28th
Ushers and Bartenders Needed.
About the show: Bigfoot is back and better than ever! This new, two-act expansion of Cryptid Entertainment’s cult-classic Fringe show, Bigfoot Saves America, is a campy action comedy set in the late 1970s. The evil mastermind known as The Mothman is on the rise, and it’s Bigfoot’s duty to save not only America but the entire World. With help from Theodore Roosevelt and the FBI, Bigfoot falls in love, finds his true family, and does so with gusto.
DNR State Fair Fishin' Pond Aug 2nd thru 18th shifts 9:30a-7:30p at the Indiana State Fair
Fishing Volunteers Needed! Spend of a few hours helping children learn about the joy of catching fish. The DNR State Fishin’ Pond, started in 2006, gives children ages 5-17 the chance to fish for free during the State Fair. Each year, thousands of kids fish at the pond. For many of them, it is their first fishing experience.
RUN(317) Mass Ave Race benefitting Girls on the Run - Thur. Aug 3rd 5p-8p
Volunteers are needed for RUN(317) Mass Ave! Girls on the Run of Central Indiana was chosen to be the charity partner of the RUN 317 race taking place on Thursday August 1st.

Center for the Performing
The Center for Performing Arts is a nonprofit organization responsible for the operation and programming of a multidisciplinary performing arts campus in Carmel, IN. The facilities include the Palladium, the Tarkington and the Studio Theater. The next opportunity for usher training is Aug 2, 6-8:30 PM.

Momentum Indy - Fri & Sat, 7/12-13 in downtown Indy
IU Health Momentum Indy is a two-day cycling celebration of bike races, bike rides, food, music, and family festivities in downtown Indy. Serving as the 5th race of the American Criterium Cup, professional cyclists will give it their all to take the podium! Volunteers are essential in providing a safe, well-organized, and fun event experience. It takes hundreds of volunteers to ensure the safety and organization behind the IU Health Momentum Indy.
Social: Punch Bowl Social - Sat. July 13th 6:30pm-9:30pm - Downtown
All are invited to the July Social! Punch Bowl Social is a concept that pairs food and cocktails with modern and retro games. The name is inspired by the Victorian social tradition of gathering around a bowl of punch. It encourages face-to-face interaction while dining and playing games, providing a unique setting for exceptional experiences.
Indy Shakes: Riverside - July 18th thru 26, 7p-10p at Riverside Park
Riverside tells part of the story of Black Indianapolis from the perspective of a single family line in 3 different decades, the 1820’s the 1920’s and the 1960’s. We hope you’ll join us for this performance-meets-community event!
Big Bounce America - Fri, 7/19 thru Sun, 7/21, Shifts 8:30 to 4pm in Southeast Indy
The event features ‘The World’s Largest Bounce House’ and seven massive inflatable attractions. Covering an area of over 24,000 sq. ft., it has giant slides, ball pits, climbing towers and basketball hoops. Volunteers work alongside crew members to assist with check-in, pumping up the crowd, staffing the inflatables and overseeing the safety of participants. In return for a 4 hour shift volunteers receive 3 ‘Access All Areas’ passes to enjoy with family and friends.
Indy Shorts International Film Festival - Tue 7/23 - Sun, 7/28 at Heartland Film
The Indy Shorts International Film Festival presented by Heartland Film is the largest shorts festival in the Midwest. This six-day summer festival celebrates the unique, creative and captivating art of short films in a wide range of categories, including horror, comedy, documentary, narrative, animated and more. Project Will Rummage Sale - Sat, July 7th 8am-3pm, Northeast Indianapolis
Project Will, a nonprofit organization that supports young adults with behavioral health challenges, is conducting a rummage sale event this Saturday, July 6th located at 7172 Graham Road. They need volunteers to help with sorting, pricing, merchandising, helping guests, etc. Meals/Snacks to be provided. Feel free to sign-up more than once!

Trail Building with Hoosier Hikers Council
The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. Since 1995 the Hoosier Hikers Council has been building, repairing, and maintaining hiking trails in the state of Indiana. Join the Hoosier Hikers Council on the third of each month (through December) to support The Nature Conservancy for a day in the woods! They will continue work on the new trail at TNC’s Green’s Bluff Nature Preserve in Owen County.

Downtown Indy's Fourth Fest - Thur. July 4th 6-11pm
Volunteers are needed for Downtown Indy’s Fourth Fest. The street party begins at 6:00 p.m. with food trucks, ice cream and beverages on North St. between Meridian St. and Pennsylvania St. Downtown Indy, Inc.’s festival stage will feature live musical performances. Fireworks begin at 10:00 p.m. and the launch site remains at the 500 N Meridian building with optimal viewing areas on the Indiana War Memorial grounds and American Legion Mall. Fireworks will be synced to popular patriotic and themed music aired on local radio stations.

Indiana State Museum and Historic Site
This statewide museum system has 12 locations, including a central museum in downtown Indianapolis and 11 historic sites across the state of Indiana. Each location offers interesting, educational and unique experiences. Visitors can engage with the past and connect it to the present, carrying their newfound knowledge and experiences with them long after their visit. Indy Vegfest - Sunday, July 14th 1pm to 5pm at Gainbridge Fieldhouse
Indy Vegfest is free of charge. Our mission is to educate the public about the compassionate, environmental, and health facets of a vegan lifestyle. In addition to a large annual event, we have year-round educational activities planned, such as free plant-based cooking classes led by Indy-area chefs.
Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana
Meals on Wheels of Central Indiana is an organization that delivers smiles and nutritious meals to homebound individuals in the region. For a small fee, clients receive two medically-tailored meals each weekday, prepared by premier healthcare institutions. These meals are delivered by dedicated Meals on Wheels volunteers. The organization ensures good nutrition by customizing meals for each individual client.

Indianapolis Animal Care Services
Our dedicated team of volunteers come in weekly to care for hundreds of animals. In 2023 alone, volunteers donated over 23,500 hours; but more help is desperately needed. Some examples of volunteer opportunities include walking dogs, caring for cats, providing enrichment for cats and dogs, participating in our “Doggy Day Out” program, staffing events, supporting medical, and taking animal photos.

Earth Day Indiana Festival, June 1st 7am-7pm shifts at Garfield Park

This year, the Longest Dinner will honor the artists, audience members, and community leaders who continue to work towards making Indianapolis a safe and fruitful environment for artists to create and play. Volunteers needed to support the Fit4Heroes FitFest. The Fit4Heroes campaign is designed to emphasize the connection between exercise and cancer prevention. The campaign ends Sunday, June 23 with the celebratory, family-friendly FitFest. Attendees will enjoy fun activities and competitions (including a Cornhole Tourney), vendors exhibitors, and other nonprofit partners who serve those affected by a cancer diagnosis.

Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana
At Ronald McDonald House Charities of Indiana, we provide a supportive home away from home for families of children receiving medical care at Riley Children’s Health and other area hospitals. When families have a sick child, we provide comfort, care and kindness when they need it most. Our House provides all the comforts of home, plus a community of support, and our Family Rooms are places for families to rest during the long days of testing or treatment. We offer volunteer opportunities for individuals as well as groups. You can volunteer one-time or on an on-going basis. The volunteer services that are needed most include guest services and culinary crew volunteers.

For the first time ever, the event will be staged on a football field, as Lucas Oil Stadium will be home to the nine-day Olympic-qualifying meet in front of hundreds of thousands of families, friends, and fans.
32nd Annual Eiteljorg Indian Market and Festival – June 22nd and June 23rd
At the annual Indian Market and Festival, we host over 150 Indigenous artists from all over the US and Canada to sell their art, pottery, jewelry, etc! There’s also food trucks, performances, and art activities! There is a mandatory training you must attend if you would like to volunteer at the market. The mandatory training falls on Thursday, June 13, there is an afternoon option (12:30-1:30pm) and an evening option (5:30-6:30pm).
Prism Project Summer Camp at the Center for Performing Arts
The Prism Project is a performing arts program developed by Ball State University and designed to be physically, developmentally and cognitively appropriate for youth with disabilities. The program is a four-week camp culminating in a final performance. In 2024, this performance will take place Sunday, June 23, in the Studio Theater at the Center for the Performing Arts. We are looking for volunteers to serve as “Buddies” during the camp.

Indiana Wish
The mission of Indiana Wish is to grant wishes to Indiana children ages 3 – 18 diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. At Indiana Wish, we create hope amid hardship. Hope can be a powerful force in the health and healing of the children we serve. Research studies have shown that children who have received wishes have less distress, fewer episodes of depression, and reduced anxiety. All of this, in turn, can improve their quality of life, foster hope and resilience, and potentially lead to better health outcomes.
Indiana Wish is an Indiana-focused wish-granting organization. Since 1984, we have granted more than 3,500 wishes to Hoosier children in 88 of Indiana’s 92 counties. Indiana Wish is not affiliated with any other local or national wish-granting organization. Funding for wishes is made possible through the support of individual giving, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events. Working together, we can impact even more Hoosier children and families throughout Indiana.

Volunteers are needed for the 2nd annual 5K and 11th annual Monumental Mile. The 5k course is 3.1 miles long and includes the Indiana War Memorial, Indianapolis Central Library, and University Park.
The Monumental Mile includes a Youth & High School Mile, Masters Mile, Open Mile, Elite Female Mile, and Elite Male Mile. The Monumental Mile also includes a Doggie Dash that benefits Indianapolis Animal Care.

The Indiana Historical Society collects and preserves Indiana’s unique stories; brings Hoosiers together in remembering and sharing the past; and inspires a future grounded in our state’s uniting values and principles. Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art
The Eiteljorg houses an extensive collection of visual arts by indigenous peoples of the Americas, as well as Western art. The museum offers a fascinating exploration of Native American history, culture, and the American West through its diverse collection of art and cultural objects. The 500 Festival, a not-for-profit community organization, was created in 1957 to organize civic events celebrating the greatest race in the world. Over the past 60+ years, the 500 Festival has grown to become one of the largest festivals in the nation. Each year, 500,000 Hoosiers and visitors participated in festival activities throughout the month of May. Whether they were athletes running the Mini-Marathon, fourth-grade students participating in the Education Program, families enjoying the state’s largest festival for kids, or spectators being dazzled by one of the nation’s premier parades, they were there, celebrating the legacy.

About 90 artisans from across Indiana are expected to showcase their original art, fine craft small-batch food, and locally produced wine, spirits and other beverages. Many will demonstrate their creative process in their booths. Food and beverage producers will offer samples up and down the food aisle. Indiana Artisan Spring Marketplace April 6th & 7th at the Indiana State Fairgrounds
About 90 artisans from across Indiana are expected to showcase their original art, fine craft small-batch food, and locally produced wine, spirits and other beverages. Many will demonstrate their creative process in their booths. Food and beverage producers will offer samples up and down the food aisle. Volunteers are needed from April 4-7 to do a wide variety of easy tasks. In appreciation of your help, enjoy free admission, free parking, light refreshments and a T-shirt.

Westminster Neighborhood Services provides education support, access to basic needs, and community connections to empower neighbors and strengthen youth and families on the Near Eastside of Indianapolis. Westminster’s holistic approach to serve the entire family is important to the thousands of neighbors that come through the doors annually. The relationship built with the families is so important; at times we might be the only ones cheering on these families and helping them navigate hard situations they face daily. 42% of the neighborhood live below the poverty level and 21% live with an annual income less than $10,000. That comes with barriers that they need help overcoming, and Westminster’s services are essential to help families break down those barriers and break free from the obstacles holding them back in life.

This is a USA Swimming regional championship and one of the fastest meets in the country for USA Swimming’s up-and-coming athletes. Speedo Sectionals is also one of the first times this spring where athletes can continue to qualify for Olympic Trials. We are expecting a record number of athletes trying to achieve their goal of swimming in Lucas Oil Stadium.

500 Festival Rookie Run May 11th 12pm-4pm at Monument Circle
Rookie Run is a non-competitive fun run for children ages 3–10 that takes place annually in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. The run is part of the 500 Festival Kids’ Day Fun Run, which aims to promote fitness, healthy living, and community involvement.
The Rookie Run will take place at Kids’ Day, Indiana’s largest free outdoor festival for kids! The Salesforce and JPMorgan Chase 500 Festival Kids’ Day attracts thousands to Monument Circle on May 11, featuring over 40 exhibitors and tons of fun, educational and interactive activities.

IRT's 'Fannie: The Music and Life of Fannie Lou Hamer' Jan 9th thru Feb. 4th
Rising from humble roots as the daughter of a Mississippi sharecropper, Fannie Lou Hamer became a leader in the struggle for voting rights at a time when Civil Rights were far from secure. Her grit and determination to keep fighting, through bad times as well as good, shows what it means to be a true revolutionary. You’ll be clapping and crying and singing along with a show that is part theatre, part gospel revival, and all inspiration.
NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service 2024 - Thur 2/14 4PM to Fri 2/15 4PM at Lucas Oil Stadium
The NBA, Pacers Sports & Entertainment and Million Meal Movement will host the first-ever 24-Hours of NBA Cares All-Star Day of Service, which will bring together 6,000 volunteers to pack ONE MILLION meals to be distributed to food pantries throughout Indiana. This high-energy, community-centric event will take place at Lucas Oil Stadium starting Thursday, February 15 at 4:00 PM through Friday, February 16 at 4:00 PM. **Only night and early morning shifts are still open.
28th Annual Noble Evening in the Garden Friday, Mar. 8th 1pm-11:30pm at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Expo Hall & West Pavilion
This fundraiser is “a fabulous preview gala to the Indiana Flower & Patio Show and will feature specialties from top restaurants, live music, interactive entertainment, a Silent Auction & more in the beautiful gardens at the Indiana State Fairgrounds."
500 Festival 6-Miler Pit Station Crew - Saturday, March 9th - 7:30-11am
On Your Marks, Get Set, GO!!! Once again, the 500 Festival has asked for our help to host pit stations for upcoming running races. 6-Miler Pit Station: Saturday March 9 and 10-Miler Pit Station: Saturday April 6.

Firefly Children and Family Alliance
This nonprofit has supported Indiana families and adults for generations. The organization is built on the belief that giving kids and adults the chance to succeed creates stronger communities. They help Hoosiers overcome hardship and unhealthy behaviors. Their programs and services include child abuse prevention, home-based services, youth placement and recovery services.

Jingle Rails: The Great Western Adventure - thru Jan 15th at the Eiteljorg
Jingle Rails is a whimsical model railroad of G-scale electric trains that ramble over trestles and through tunnels along more than 1,200 feet of track. Trains wind past woodsy, artistic representations of the skyline of Downtown Indianapolis and landmarks of the American West, all made from natural materials. Volunteers are needed to staff the exhibit over the next three months. This exhibit is almost ENTIRELY volunteer run!

Christmas at the Zoo brings us to an enchanted winter wonderland.
56 years ago, our zoo became the first in the nation to hold a holiday lights event. This season, spend some time volunteering with animal friends of all sizes.

Claus Out: A Holiday-Themed Murder Mystery Musical - Multiple Shows - IndyFringe Volunteers needed at the North Pole, where Santa's Reindeer have been summoned for a mysterious reunion. But when a shocking murder sends a chill through the snowy air, it's up to two unlikely detectives to unravel the mystery.
December Social: Festival of Trees at the Indiana History Center - Tues. Dec 12th 5:30-8pm Join up with the Indianapolis Ambassadors as we marvel at the 75 elaborately decorated trees. With special programs and enhanced dining and shopping options, the 10th anniversary of this event continues to be a fun and family-friendly way to brighten the holiday season.
Fishers: Wrapping Paper Pop Up Wed 12/13 & Thur 12/14 5-9pm at MakerSpace Labs Volunteers are needed to assist with a Printmaking Wrapping Paper Pop-Up event. Volunteers will be helping participants create their own gift-wrapping paper.
Angel Tree Toy Shop Dec. 14th, 15th, 18th, and 19thin Eagle Creek or Fountain Square Every Christmas there are children lacking life’s vital needs because their families are struggling financially and cannot afford the expense. As you can imagine, it takes hundreds of volunteer hours to make Angel Tree Toy Shop happen each year. Distribution will consist of a shopping experience where families will select gifts at either the Eagle Creek or Fountain Square corps between 10am-6pm.
Fisher Parks: Cookies with Characters Dec. 16-17 10:30am-3:30pm Join the Fishers Park's volunteer team and volunteer with the Cookies with Characters event at the Ambassador House at Heritage Park on Saturday, December 16 and Sunday, December 17, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Volunteers will assist with set up, event check-in the photo booth, cookie decorating, crafts, and games.
Carmel Christkindlmarkt - Select Days - Shifts Vary - Through Dec.24 Be a part of the magic this holiday season by volunteering at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt! The Carmel Christkindlmarkt has brought the old-world charm of Christmas in Germany to Carmel, Indiana. The market is dedicated to creating an authentic German market with products sourced from Germany and other German-speaking European countries. You will find a blend of traditional German foods and gifts being sold from small wooden huts, and the market surrounds a beautiful outdoor ice skating.
