Breakfast with Santa, on Saturday December 9th, is the biggest outreach event for the YMCA at the Athenaeum
Families are invited to Breakfast with Santa from downtown shelters and organizations providing for our underserved neighbors. After an enjoyable breakfast, grown-ups get to shop for presents for the kiddos (stockings, books, and toys), while the kiddos enjoy some entertainment (magic, face painting, balloon artists, and glitter tattoos) and get to shop for presents for a grown-up in their life, and everyone gets to visit with Santa!

- Positions include:
- Family Elf: You will be paired with a family to spend the morning with the kiddos, play in Winter Wonderland, help the kiddos shop for a present for a special adult in their life, and help make the morning magical for everyone. Depending on the size of the family, more than one elf may be paired together. Winter Wonderland will be in the same area as the breakfast and include face painting, balloon artists, glitter tattoos, and a magic show! Volunteer ages 18+ only for this event.
- Greeter/Floater Elf: You will be placed in areas of greatest need, which may change throughout the event.
- Santa’s Workshop Elf: You will help set up Santa’s Workshop, which includes areas for stockings, toys, and books. You will help the grownups select toys, wrap gifts, and pack everything up. After the event, you will help tear down the area. Volunteer ages 18+ only for this event.

- 7:30am – noon

- Festive attire or clean pants/jeans and shirt.
- Must be 18 or older.

- Parking will be provided in garage next door to the Athenaeum.
- Additional details will be emailed to the volunteers ahead of the event.
