Welcome to the Indy Ambassadors Terms of Service! These terms govern your participation in our organization, use of our website, and attendance at our events. By accessing our website, opting into communications, or joining our events, you agree to these Terms.

1. Organizational Structure & Indiana Jurisdiction

Indy Ambassadors is a 501(c)(3) volunteer-only nonprofit organization operating exclusively in the State of Indiana. All operations, agreements, and disputes are governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of Indiana, without giving effect to any choice-of-law principles.

2. SMS/Text Messaging Terms & Conditions

By opting in to receive text messages from Indy Ambassadors, you agree to the following terms required by mobile carriers:

  • Program Description: Indy Ambassadors sends text messages to registered volunteers and supporters regarding event logistics, volunteer opportunities, schedule changes, and community updates.
  • Opt-Out Instructions: You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Simply text STOP to any text message you receive from us. After sending STOP, we will send you a single confirmation message verifying that you have been unsubscribed. After this, you will no longer receive SMS messages from us.
  • Support & Help: If you experience issues with the messaging program, reply with the keyword HELP for more assistance, or contact our support team directly through our website.
  • Carriers & Delivery: Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • Rates & Frequency: Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. Message frequency varies depending on your event sign-ups and volunteer involvement.
  • Privacy: Mobile opt-in consent and phone numbers will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes.

3. Event Registration, Fees, and Refund Policy

  • General Events: Most Indy Ambassadors events are free to attend.
  • Event Fees: Occasionally, an event may require a small registration or ticket fee to cover facility rentals, supplies, or partner costs.
  • No Refunds Policy: All event registration fees are strictly non-refundable, as funds are immediately committed to event logistics and supporting our nonprofit mission.

4. Assumption of Risk & Liability Disclaimer

  • No Formal Liability Waiver: Indy Ambassadors operates on a volunteer-run basis and does not maintain formal liability waivers. By participating in any Indy Ambassadors event, project, or gathering, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with your participation.
  • General Disclaimer: Indy Ambassadors, its volunteer board, and event leaders are not responsible for personal injury, illness, property loss, or damage occurring during or in connection with any event.
  • Third-Party & High-Risk Activities: Certain volunteer projects (e.g., physical labor, outdoor trail maintenance, construction, or water activities) carry higher inherent risks and are organized, managed, or hosted by third-party partner organizations. In such cases, the third-party host holds sole responsibility for event safety, and participants must abide by the host organization’s guidelines and policies.

5. Media Release & Social Media Postings

By attending Indy Ambassadors events, you grant us permission to capture your image, voice, or likeness via photograph or video and publish it on our website, social media channels, news releases, or promotional material in support of our nonprofit mission.

6. Dispute Resolution

We believe in resolving issues amicably and in good faith:

  1. Informal Mediation: In the event of any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your participation with Indy Ambassadors, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute through informal mediation in good faith.
  1. Jurisdiction: If informal mediation does not resolve the matter within sixty (60) days, any legal action, suit, or proceeding must be instituted exclusively in the state or federal courts located within the State of Indiana.
