Indianapolis Cultural Trail
The Indianapolis Cultural Trail is a world-class, 8–10.6 mile urban multi-use trail connecting the city’s cultural districts, public art, and key downtown landmarks.
The Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick is an urban shared-use path and linear park in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, officially opened in 2013 after 12 years of planning and six years of construction. It spans 8.1 miles (with expansions bringing it to over 10 miles) and links six of the city’s seven cultural districts, neighborhoods, and major attractions, including the Indiana Convention Center, Lucas Oil Stadium, and the Madam Walker Legacy Center.
The trail is designed for walking, biking, and other non-motorized transportation, offering a safe, healthy, and convenient way to explore the city.

Volunteering with the Indianapolis Cultural Trail offers a wide variety of ways for individuals and groups to get involved with our world-class urban trail, green spaces, public art, and programs. Opportunities exist for volunteers of all interests and skill levels and new ways to join in are being created regularly.

How does Indianapolis Cultural Trail, Inc. maintain all 10 miles of the Trail, 30,000 square feet of stormwater planters, 5 acres of urban gardens, 54 Pacers Bikeshare Stations, 12 pieces of our Public Art Collection and host amazing live events open to all?
We rely on the 1,200+ volunteers we host annually. Their time spent with us ensures the Cultural Trail is a beautifully maintained and vibrant community asset connecting people and places in downtown Indianapolis. Our volunteers are a vital part of the work that we do.
