The Heartland International Film Festival returns to connect audiences and filmmakers through the transformative power of film. The festival is an 11-day celebration of 300+ films, 100+ filmmakers, and several venues across the city. About 200 volunteers are needed to make this event successful.

It takes hundreds of volunteers to help put on the Heartland International Film Festival, Indy Shorts International Film Festival and year-round programs in all aspects, including the planning of events, working at the theaters and providing our signature Hoosier hospitality for filmmakers and guests. Volunteer Details:
- Heartland International Film Festival
- Multiple Venues
- Many volunteers are needed.
- Positions include:
- Theater Volunteers – with more than 5 unique venues to choose from,
- Special Events – help get the festival set up or with 5 unique events,
- After Hours Mingle – meet filmmakers up close,
- … and more.

- Scroll down to the volunteer’s section,
- Click on ‘Become a Volunteer’ to register, and
- Click on ‘Returning Volunteers’ to sign up for shifts.
Volunteer benefits:
- For every two hours, volunteers will receive a Free movie ticket code to be used in-person or online during the festival.
- Festival t-shirt
- Invitation to volunteer only screenings
Volunteer Requirements:
- Physical requirements are dependent on chosen volunteer role.
- Theater volunteers stand unless a chair is requested.
- Heavy lifting only if signed up for a set up shift, etc.
- Dress code is Festival t-shirt and comfortable attire – no holes in jeans.
