Zoobilation

Zoobilation is just around the corner and we are still looking for lots of volunteers. We would greatly appreciate you sharing the following information to your friends at Indy Ambassadors:

The Indianapolis Zoo is seeking volunteers for Zoobilation, the Zoo’s largest annual fundraising event. This event brings together guests for an evening of food, drinks, live entertainment and unique animal experiences throughout the Zoo. Zoobilation is 21+ event, so all volunteers must be at least 21 years old to participate. We also welcome one-time volunteers specifically for this event, making it a great opportunity to volunteer with friends or family members.

If you are interested in volunteering, please review the available shifts below. Shifts are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Den and Table Prep (12:30–5:30pm)
  Help set up tables, chairs and décor throughout the Zoo to prepare guest dining and gathering spaces.
• Gate Attendant (1–5:30pm)
  Check in vendors as they arrive, provide directions and help coordinate unloading at Zoo gates.
• Restaurant Assistant (2:30–6pm)
  Guide restaurants to their assigned locations and assist with unloading and setup as needed.
• Restaurant Host (5–9:30pm)
  Support restaurants by restocking supplies, keeping areas clean and assisting guests as needed.
• Exit Experience Host (8:30pm–12:30am)
  Thank guests as they leave, distribute exit items and assist with late arrivals if needed.

To sign up, please email Allie Beck at abeck@indyzoo.com with your full name and preferred shift. Volunteers will also be required to undergo a limited criminal history background check. Once we review shift availability, we will respond with a shift confirmation.

In preparation for the event, all volunteers are required to attend the Zoobilation Volunteer Orientation on Tuesday, May 26 at 6pm in the Zoo’s Bicentennial Pavilion.

Additional Event Information:

• Perks: Volunteers may purchase Zoobilation tickets at half price or receive four complimentary Zoo admission tickets at the end of their shift, along with a free Zoobilation t-shirt and entry into a raffle featuring prizes such as high-end restaurant experiences, hotel stays and more.
• Attire: Zoobilation t-shirt (will be provided at the orientation), khaki or black pants, shorts, or a skirt, and comfortable closed-toe shoes are required. Blue jeans and jean shorts are not permitted. Please do not alter the t-shirts in any way.
• Refreshments: Lunch and dinner will be provided. Gluten-free and vegetarian meals will be available, and we will do our best to accommodate other allergies. Snacks and beverages will be available in the Hix Institute. Please bring your own water bottle.
