Broad Ripple Lights Up Holiday Parade and Festival

Christmas Parade Volunteers

Volunteer tasks include: event setup, parade marshals, and event tear-down.

Event setup noon to 2pm 10 volunteers
Assist in setting up tents, tables, and chairs for the Kids’ Wonderland Activity Village on Carrollton Ave where it dead-ends into the Canal Esplanade and parade watching stations along the parade route.

Parade lineup captains 4:30-6pm 4 volunteers
Check-in and line-up parade units, then lead units from line-up site at the high school to the start point at Broad Ripple Avenue and the Monon Trail.

Parade marshals 5-7pm 10 volunteers
Assist in setting up parade barricades. Some volunteers will need to stand at intersections to ensure no vehicular traffic goes through. Others will walk alongside the parade to ensure spectators remain on sidewalks and that parade floats keep pace.

Parade teardown 5-7pm 4 volunteers
Follow the parade in a truck and teardown the viewing stations and pick up traffic barricades

Tear down 5-7pm 10 volunteers
Assist in tearing down tents, tables, and chairs from the Kids’ Wonderland Activity Village on Carrollton Avenue, where the street dead-ends into the Canal Esplanade.
