DESCRIPTION:Every Christmas there are children lacking life’s vital needs because their families are struggling financially and cannot afford the expense. As you can imagine\, it takes hundreds of volunteer hours to make Angel Tree happen each year. We invite you to consider joining us by coming to volunteer with sorting/inventory in November as well as set up and distribution in December in one of the following ways:\norganize a toy drive\,\naccept gifts being dropped off at one of two locations\,\ninventory and organize gifts during sorting days\,\nhelp parents/guardians select gifts when they come to shop on distribution day\,\nhelp take bags of gifts out to parent/guardian vehicles. \nSorting/inventory will take place on various dates in November and early December at a warehouse in Whitestown followed by set up from December 10-12 and 15 at our Eagle Creek Corps. Distribution will consist of both a shopping experience where families will select gifts as well as bag distribution where families to come pick up gifts selected by donors for the children tentatively scheduled at our Eagle Creek Corps from December 16-19 between 8:30am-6:30pm. \nWe welcome both individual volunteers and groups of volunteers (please note volunteers under 18 years of age must be with a parent/guardian/adult) to help us ensure a successful Angel Tree program at our Eagle Creek Corps. \nwww.sacentralindiana.org

DESCRIPTION:Center for the Performing Arts: Volunteer Training\, Thurs Feb 5th\, Palladium Music Hall\, 6p-8p in Carmel\nThe Allied Solutions Center for Performing Arts will be providing new volunteer orientation. There will be a presentation followed by a tour of the Palladium. \nThe Allied Solutions Center is a nonprofit organization responsible for the operation and programming of a multidisciplinary performing arts campus in Carmel\, Indiana. The facilities include the Payne & Mencias Palladium\, a state-of-the-art 1\,500-seat concert hall; the Tarkington\, a 500-seat proscenium theater; and the Studio Theater\, a versatile black box with a seated capacity of 200. SUMMARY:Central Indiana MathCounts competition Sycamore School
DESCRIPTION:The Central Indiana MathCounts competition will be held on Friday\, February 13 at Sycamore School\, and I need volunteers to help with proctoring and scoring tests. \nMost volunteers are needed from 8:45 am until 12:30 pm. Volunteers that want to serve as proctors will need to arrive earlier (~8:30 am) and will be done earlier. No math expertise is required. \nYou are welcome to stay after we are done with the tests to see the final countdown round where the top 16 students face off in a Jeopardy style contest for a trophy and bragging rights. You’ll be amazed at how smart these kids are! \nLight snacks and lunch will be provided. \nVolunteers should email cottrell@lilly.com to register prior to the day of the competition.

DESCRIPTION:The Indiana Medical History Museum sits inside the Old Pathology Building on the former grounds of Central State Hospital in Indianapolis. As the oldest surviving free‑standing pathology laboratory in the United States\, it preserves the early era of scientific psychiatry and medical research. Visitors can explore original spaces such as the autopsy room\, anatomical museum\, teaching amphitheater\, and early clinical laboratories\, all largely intact from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. \nRegistration is full. DESCRIPTION:On Your Marks\, Get Set\, GO!!!\nFor the fourth consecutive year\, the 500 Festival has chosen the Indianapolis Ambassadors to host a pit station for their Miler Series of runs/walks. We need your help to make our refreshment station cheerful and efficient for the runners who pass by.
