DESCRIPTION:Volunteers Needed for the Angel Tree Toy Shop\nEvery Christmas there are children lacking life’s vital needs because their families are struggling financially and cannot afford the expense. As you can imagine\, it takes hundreds of volunteer hours to make Angel Tree Toy Shop happen each year. \nPlease consider joining us in one or more of the following roles: \n\norganize a toy drive\,\naccept gifts being dropped off at one of three locations\,\nhelp families complete their applications for assistance\,\ninventory and organize gifts during sorting days\, and\nhelp families select gifts when they come to shop on distribution day.\n\nDistribution will consist of a shopping experience where families will select gifts at either our Eagle Creek corps (4400 N. High School Rd.) or Fountain Square corps (1337 Shelby St.). Date and times below. \nWe welcome both individual volunteers and groups of volunteers (please note volunteers under 18 years of age must be with a parent/guardian/adult) to help us ensure a successful Angel Tree Toy Shop program at our Eagle Creek corps or Fountain Square corps. \n>>>> Registration is Required to Participate <<<<\n\nVolunteer Details:\n\nAngel Tree Toy Shop\nAt either:\n\nEagle Creek corp\n4400 N. SUMMARY:IU Natatorium: Jingle Jamboree
DESCRIPTION:Jingle Jamboree – Dec 13th thru 15th\nThe IU Natatorium will be hosting this pre-holiday celebration of fast swimming and fun for its third year from Friday through Sunday\, December 13 – 15. Approximately 800 swimmers from across the Midwest will be competing in this meet. \nThe Jingle Jamboree is a 2.5-day\, timed finals\, short course competition that will be contested in two 25-yard pools. Volunteers are now being recruited for a variety of positions. All volunteers are asked to register for at least two (2) shifts throughout the course of the weekend. Timers must be 14 years of age or older; all other volunteer positions require minimum ages of 18 or 21. DESCRIPTION:The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive. Since 1995 the Hoosier Hikers Council has been building\, repairing\, and maintaining hiking trails in the state of Indiana. Join the Hoosier Hikers Council on the third of each month (through December) to support The Nature Conservancy for a day in the woods! They will continue work on the new trail at TNC’s Green’s Bluff Nature Preserve in Owen County. \nADDITIONAL DETAILS\n\nNo experience needed.\nAll tools and instructions are provided.\nThe terrain here is moderate.\nVolunteers should be comfortable with physical activity including bending\, shoveling\, raking and hiking.\nPlease go prepared with drinking water\, close-toed shoes and weather-appropriate layers.\n\nLET THEM KNOW IF YOU’LL BE JOINING!\nPlease RSVP to hoosierhikerscouncil@gmail.com to let them know that you’re coming to the workday so they can plan enough lunch for all the workers. Please be aware that they unfortunately don’t have the resources to accommodate special dietary needs such as vegetarian\, gluten-free\, etc. \nDIRECTIONS\nGreen’s Bluff is located west of Bloomington and south of McCormick’s Creek State Park in Owen County. Volunteers will be parking at a large powerline maintenance area that’s accessible from a smooth\, flat\, gravel driveway. To get to the worksite\, take W Porter Ridge Road west from State Road 43. There’s a double-decker bus parked at the intersection of SR 43 and Porter Ridge Road. Go west about 0.5 miles to Green’s Bluff Road\, a gravel road which will be on your right. Follow Green’s Bluff Road northwest for about 0.5 miles to Pawpaw Road\, which is also gravel. Bear left onto Pawpaw Road and go about 0.3 miles. Go past a No Trespassing sign on a wooden post to a driveway on your left that leads to a green gate. There will be white flagging tape at the driveway and on the gate. Go through the gate and follow the gravel driveway about 0.4 miles through the woods until you emerge onto a large\, flat parking area under the power lines.

DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to the General Meeting of the Indianapolis Ambassadors hosted by Exodus Refugee on the second Wednesday in January.\nExodus Refugee Immigration is dedicated to the protection of human rights by serving the resettlement needs of refugees and other displaced people fleeing persecution\, injustice\, and war by welcoming them to Indiana. Exodus has a long history of welcoming refugees and asylees from many countries\, cultures\, languages\, faiths\, and political opinions. Exodus has helped thousands of refugees establish their lives in Indiana. Come learn how volunteers help to make this all possible. \nAfterwards the group goes out for a short social. SUMMARY:Rising Pursuit Services: Sneaker Ball in Westfield
DESCRIPTION:On this day of the Event\, Rising Pursuit Services presents the Anniversary Sneaker Ball which includes individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities\, family friends and all supporters in the Indianapolis community. This event\, which will consist of divine dancing\, and dining\, will take place at Whiskey Fork & Co from 7pm-10:00pm. This significant event is in efforts to honor and celebrate our individuals in this program and all their success in this year’s timespan. Additionally\, to show that people with disabilities strive while displaying incredible abilities to exhibit confidence\, poise\, and elegance. There will be speakers from Bureau of Disabilities\, food\, drinks and dancing. \nWhy This Event Matters \nMany families supporting individuals with disabilities have expressed the severity of reliable transportation. All proceeds for this event contribute to providing a solid foundation for transportation. Rising Pursuit Services strives to implement an additional transportation vehicle to assist with vocational\, programming and outing necessities. Furthermore\, this will be an educational vehicle for individuals who have the capacity to enroll in our first Driver’s Education Course. Many individuals aspire to learn the fundamentals of driving requirements\, and to be sufficient and safe to transport themselves. This Sneaker Ball not only opens the realm of possibilities for these individuals but builds skill sets that they can carry with them in all aspects of their livelihood. \nWho We Are \nFounded in the year 2023\, Rising Pursuit Services is a nonprofit organization supporting adults 18 and above\, with intellectual and developmental disabilities socially\, mentally emotionally and physically at the Adult Day Program located in the Castleton area of Indianapolis. This company offers a variety of strategic processes to implement personal and professional tactics to assist in reaching the goals of individuals in the disability community. Rising Pursuit Services provides support in pursuit of a well-rounded and high-quality life\, consistently achieving success. A great majority of our individuals transition from the special needs high school classrooms\, as they only can remain enrolled until the age of 22 years. We do not have an age limit.
