SUMMARY:Changing Footprints Donations Sorting on the Northside
DESCRIPTION:Changing Footprint is MOVING! Sorting and bagging assistance is needed from March 11-31. We will be focused on getting our 20\,000 pairs of shoes sorted & rebagged\, and moved out to our storage units. \nChanging Footprints realizes the great need for shoes around the world as protection from diseases and a gateway to education. Because of that need we collect new and gently used shoes for distribution to homeless\, disaster-stricken\, or underprivileged people locally\, nationally\, and internationally regardless of race\, religion\, gender\, or ethnicity. As a nonprofit\, registered 501(c)3 organization. \nAs our reputation has grown\, we have had the pleasure of working with many social service agencies\, church missions\, medical relief teams\, military personnel\, and disaster relief teams\, requesting shoes for their missions. We never lose sight of our mission since we work personally with teams who actually take the shoes and see that they reach those in need. \nSign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090f49acad28abf94-changing#/\nor email bob at indybroughton@yahoo.com\nor call Bob at 317-727-4186

SUMMARY:Indianapolis Opera: 'West Side Story' at the Indianapolis Zoo
DESCRIPTION:May 9th-11th at The Bicentennial Pavilion at the Indianapolis Zoo\nVolunteer ushers needed for the Indianapolis Opera’s production of “West Side Story”. This musical\, which opened on Broadway in 1957\, explores the rivalry between two street gangs\, who come from vastly different backgrounds. You will be transported by familiar tunes such as “Somewhere’\, “One Hand\, One Heart” and “America”\, just to name a few! \nWe need 6 to 8 ushers each night to provide our patrons with the very best customer service experience they have come to expect from us. This is also a wonderful opportunity for YOU to see (free of charge) this amazing production . There will be standing involved\, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. The Bicentennial Pavilion is mostly covered\, but be sure to dress according to the weather. We would prefer Black bottoms and white tops. \nThe shows begin at 7:00pm\, so we would like our ushers to arrive by 5:30pm. Parking will be paid for by Indianapolis Opera. We will also ask that those who are able \, attend a volunteer orientation at the Zoo on Monday\, May 5th from 2-4pm. \nTo volunteer\, please contact Kara Davis at Indianapolis Opera.
