SUMMARY:Fishers AgriPark Volunteer 2 hour shifts\, June thru Sept
DESCRIPTION:A 33-acre urban farm\, the Fishers AgriPark pays homage to Fishers’ agricultural roots\, while inspiring future generations of farmers\, scientists\, agronomists\, robotics engineers\, chefs\, and more. \nThe AgriPark features public fields and gardens\, managed by Fishers Parks. In the gardens\, residents have access to seasonal produce and cut flowers to take home at no charge. Along with providing you-pick opportunities for residents\, an animal area gives guests the change to encounter traditional livestock and farm animals\, including cows\, a horse\, ducks\, and sheep. Open fields\, a nature play area\, constructed in partnership with Reynolds Farm Equipment\, and a mud kitchen provide discovery and play spaces for our youngest residents. A programming barn serves as an educational space for both public and school-based programs with Hamilton Southeastern Schools. In the gardens\, residents have access to seasonal produce and cut flowers to take home at no charge. Along with providing you-pick opportunities for residents\, an animal area gives guests the change to encounter traditional livestock and farm animals\, including cows\, a horse\, ducks\, and sheep. Open fields\, a nature play area\, constructed in partnership with Reynolds Farm Equipment\, and a mud kitchen provide discovery and play spaces for our youngest residents. A programming barn serves as an educational space for both public and school-based programs with Hamilton Southeastern Schools. DESCRIPTION:All are welcome to the October General Meeting of the Indianapolis Ambassadors hosted by White River State Park.\nJoin us for a fascinating Art Walk in White River State Park (WRSP).  The unique sculptures are permanent public art pieces designed by artisans from across the country.  Each has a fantastic story and adds to the ambiance of the park.  Join us as we stroll through the park and learn about volunteer opportunities at WRSP.  Come and experience the art which is very close to some of our favorite places to volunteer. \n \n*We will gather at “The Tent” which is right outside the WRSP garage and near the visitors’ center. \nWhite River State Park is an urban park situated downtown along the eastern and western banks of its namesake White River. the park covers 267 acres. DESCRIPTION:Volunteers are needed for Connor Prairie’s family-friendly\, mildly scary\, multi-day Headless Horseman Festival.\nThis hair-raising event runs Thursday through Sunday evenings throughout October. Volunteers are needed to help with the tubing hill\, assist with the concessions\, and help load and unload hayride passengers. \nDon’t miss out on your chance to be a part of this great annual event. Sign up quickly to get the best spots for your schedule and talents. All volunteers receive a light meal and 1 free ticket to attend another CP festival night\, just for fun\, each time they volunteer! \n>>>> Registration and Scheduling are Required to Participate <<<<\n\nVolunteer Details:\n\nHeadless Horseman\nConner Prairie\n13400 Allisonville Rd\nIndianapolis\, IN\, 46038\n(317) 766-6000\nhttps://www.connerprairie.org/\nMany volunteers are needed.\nPositions include:\n\nCONCESSIONS: assist staff in food tents\, giving purchases to guests. No taking orders or money is involved\, just running food and drinks. (5-10:00pm)\nTUBING HILL: help with line flow\, keeping people socially distant and informing them which of the tubing slides to use. Measure height of younger riders. Give guests a gentle twist and push to start them down the slide. (5-10:00pm)\nHAYRIDE LOADING/UNLOADING: move stairs and direct guests as they board and exit the wagons. Use flashlights to illuminate stairs after dark.
