DESCRIPTION:This Event takes place on March 26-29\, April 2-5\, and April 9-12.\nMorning and afternoon shifts from 9:30am-1pm and 12:30pm-4pm. Additional shifts will be offered on March 26 for the Member Preview and on April 4 for the Spring Concert.\nAvailable shifts include: Animal enrichment and interactions\, craft and play\, floaters\, flower arranging assistant\, goat exhibit host\, and pollinator activity assistant. \nAnimal Enrichment: Animal Enrichment Assistants will help guests create enrichment for the Zoo’s animals by decorating paper kites. Please invite guests to participate in the activity\, explain purpose of the activity to guests\, assist guest with decorating and keep table and supplies tidy. This is an outdoor/seated position. \nFloater: Assist in several areas\, including the Cheer Garden\, Yoga Inspired by Animals\, Pavilion Greeter and helping with breaks on Member Preview and Headliner days. Please remind guests of when entertainers are getting ready to start. Ensure that stations have event supplies. \nFlower Arranging Assistant: Educate guests on different varieties of flowers. Volunteer should invite guests to participate in the activity\, help keep supplies available and tidy and assist guests if asked. Help retrieve and return supplies needed for building a flower arrangement. Volunteers can also assist with a flower drawing activity. \nGoat Exhibit Host: Invite guests to look at animals. Goat Exhibit Host will help monitor goat area to make sure guests do not touch goats and help answer questions about the goats. Goat talking points will be available. This is an outdoor/standing position. \nPollinator Activity Assistant: Facilitate an active game trying to toss items into corresponding containers. Volunteer should invite guests to participate in the activity\, pulse the line to participate if there is one and help keep activity supplies contained. \nCraft Assistant: Craft Assistants will provide guests with a unique crafting experience that supports conservation and sustainability. Invite guests to participate in making a sustainable craft. Please help keep the table and supplies tidy. This is an outdoor/seated position. \nAfter another long Indiana winter\, we could all use a little xZOOberance. Join us for a spring festival featuring 12 days of fun — no matter what you’re looking for. Need a place for the kids to blow off steam and overcome a little cabin fever? We’ve got huge outdoor musical instruments\, animal matching games and creative crafts like a fun springtime pinwheel to mesmerize some little eyes. Seeking your next epic photo op? Head to the Bicentennial Pavilion for unforgettable décor\, live music and dancing\, along with spring-centric art and activities. And\, of course\, don’t miss encounters with animals—including chickens and goats. Just want to unwind with a beverage? Head to the Cheer Garden anytime\, where we’ll have craft beer and wine for adults plus a special menu featuring Bavarian pretzels\, kettle chips\, picnic snacks and kid-friendly refreshments. The suspension of these events is in accordance with the CDC’s updated guidance to cancel\, postpone or provide virtual options for all large events for the next 8 weeks in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The 500 Festival is doing everything possible to minimize the economic impact and ramifications that will be experienced as a result of canceling these in-person events. \nAll 2020 Indy Mini events will move to virtual races. Individuals registered for this year’s races will receive details on how to participate virtually and still earn their 2020 shirt and medal. Other options\, including lending a hand in support of the 500 Festival’s free programs for kids or rolling registration over to next year\, was emailed to participants on March 19. This epic race starts in the heart of downtown Indianapolis like only we could – with an IndyCar leading off each wave. The flat\, fast course is packed with thousands of the nicest volunteers you’ll ever meet and nearly 100 course entertainment acts. What makes the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon even more special is that the course includes a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (you know\, home of the Indy 500). As participants reach the Speedway’s Yard of Bricks\, many will stop to kneel and kiss the bricks. Funny tradition? Maybe. But tradition is what we’re all about!

SUMMARY:Indy Ambassadors August Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The Monthly Meeting of the Indy Ambassadors will be held in Indianapolis on the south steps of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument at Monument Circle (Meridian and Market Streets) on Wednesday\, August 5\, from 6 pm to 8 pm.  Come and learn about the activities of Downtown Indy\, which is empowered to address critical issues that affect the growth\, well-being and user-friendliness of Downtown Indianapolis. It is the only non-profit organization charged with developing\, managing\, activating and marketing Downtown to make it a better place to work\, live\, learn and play.  \nThis is an outdoor event and subject to change should weather events become extreme.  Marion County mandates on social distancing and masks will be followed.   Ample parking is available on local streets and nearby garages. \nNewcomers are welcome.  There are no fees to join.  Meet new friends with the Indy Ambassadors!  Please note that the meeting location changes each month.
