DESCRIPTION:REVERB: Barenaked Ladies Sun. July 20th at the Everwise Amphitheater at White River State Park \nVolunteers needed to promote environmental causes. REVERB is an environmental nonprofit based in Maine working to make the music industry more sustainable. We’ve worked in the past with artists like Billie Eilish\, The Lumineers\, ODESZA\, and more on a number of programs to help reduce their carbon footprint. \nWe’re looking for volunteers to help promote environmental causes at the upcoming Barenaked Ladies show. Volunteers work with us to encourage fans to reduce single-use plastics and take meaningful climate action at the show. \nVolunteers will receive a pass to watch the show in exchange for their hard work. SUMMARY:Indianapolis Opera: Lobster Palooza!
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers are needed to help us celebrate the Opera through our 15th annual fundraiser and an experience like no other…\nLobster Palooza!\nLobster Palooza! is an evening of fun\, fabulous food\, and dancing with Indy’s best revelers!  We start off the evening with entertainment and cocktail hour\, followed by a true East Coast Lobster Bake!  Also featured is our “Fund-A-Need” activity to raise money for our Education Outreach fund\, which brings opera at no cost to Indianapolis Public Schools. \nLobster Palooza! is attended by over 200 guests and supports the mission of the Indianapolis Opera. This is a major fundraiser for the Opera Company.  Volunteers would be helping bring opera to Indianapolis and the Central Indiana area.  The Indianapolis Opera has an extensive Education and Outreach department that reaches out to thousands of children. Pennsylvania Street\, Indianapolis\, IN 46205\n(right in the heart of the historic Meridian Kessler Neighborhood)\n\nSHIFT/JOB DETAILS:\n\nGreeters/Appetizer Passers/ Clean-Up During Cocktail Hour -  We need 6-8 people for this job. Shift time is 4-6pm.\nDinner Service:  We need volunteers to assist our kitchen staff/ caterer with serving our guests. These volunteers will also help clear rubbish from tables and keep them tidy. You will also offer our guests excellent customer service by offering water\, and making sure they are comfortable. Shift time is 5:30 – 8:00pm.\nClean-up Crew: You will be helping clean along with the kitchen/catering crew. Duties will include clearing tables after dinner and assisting with general cleaning duties in the Hall. 6-8 people are needed and the shift time is 7:30-10pm\n\nVolunteer sign-up:\n\nVolunteers may contact Kara Davis:  admin@indyopera.org.\n\nVolunteer Requirements:\n\nVolunteers should be able to stand and do light clean-up work for a two hour time frame.\nHelpers wear khaki or black pants and comfortable shoes\, (no open-toe shoes).  Aprons will be provided.\n\nVolunteer Benefits:\n\nA complementary meal (NOT lobster) is provided.\nVolunteers receive a volunteer T-shift.\nAppreciation from the arts community.\n\nParking instruction:\n\nThere is street parking on Pennsylvania.\nThose arriving earlier would likely have a place to park in the Basile Opera Center lot.  However\, it only holds 25 cars.\n\n\nContact Kara Davis:  admin@indyopera.org

DESCRIPTION:Fishing Volunteers Needed! Have a few hours of fun helping children learn the joy of catching fish.\nThe DNR State Fishin’ Pond\, started in 2006\, gives children ages 5-17 the chance to fish for free during the State Fair. Each year\, thousands of kids fish at the pond. For many of them\, it is their first fishing experience. The program would not be such a success without the help of wonderful volunteers. \nRegistration for State Fair Fishin’ Pond shifts occurs from mid-May through mid-August. Would you like to volunteer? DNR recruits hundreds of people to help during the fair. Volunteers receive free admission to the fair\, a free T-shirt\, and the opportunity to fish with kids for a few hours at the pond. If you don’t like touching worms\, getting fishy\, or standing in the sun\, we also have other volunteer needs. The pond has four volunteer stations\, and each volunteer session is four hours. \nSee the story on WISH-TV. DESCRIPTION:The Feast of Lanterns is a free and family-friendly festival featuring hundreds of colorful and glowing paper lanterns strung from tree to tree throughout the park. The lantern lighting at dusk is a great sight to see! \nFeast of Lanterns can’t happen without volunteers! There’s a lot the goes into making the Feast possible. Whether you have an hour to hang lanterns or all day to lend a hand\, The Feast of Lanterns organizers could use your help! Tasks are simple\, the atmosphere fun\, and the work rewarding. \nVolunteers are needed on August 22\, 23\, 24. The 2025 Feast of Lanterns takes place this year on Saturday August\, 23 from 4-11pm\, however the magic doesn’t happen without dedicated volunteers! This year volunteers are needed Friday\, Saturday and Sunday to help set up\, manage and tear down the event. Neighbors are encouraged to sign up for 1-3 hours of volunteer shifts.
