SUMMARY:500 Festival Mini-Marathon Expo
DESCRIPTION:UPDATED:  The 500 Festival is suspending all planned\, in-person events scheduled through May 9\, 2020. The suspension of these events is in accordance with the CDC’s updated guidance to cancel\, postpone or provide virtual options for all large events for the next 8 weeks in an attempt to slow the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus). The 500 Festival is doing everything possible to minimize the economic impact and ramifications that will be experienced as a result of canceling these in-person events. \nAll 2020 Indy Mini events will move to virtual races. Individuals registered for this year’s races will receive details on how to participate virtually and still earn their 2020 shirt and medal. Other options\, including lending a hand in support of the 500 Festival’s free programs for kids or rolling registration over to next year\, was emailed to participants on March 19. The in-person events will NOT take place.   https://www.indymini.com/p/mini-marathon/expo \n  \nOriginal Post:  The 500 Festival Mini-Marathon Expo jump starts the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon weekend for both participants and the general public. Because the Mini-Marathon race packets are not mailed to the participants\, all Mini-Marathon and 5K runners/walkers are required to pick up their race packets at the Expo. The packets include the runner’s bib race number\, Bib-timing device\, participant shirt and other important information. The Expo is a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy the excitement that builds to the Mini-Marathon on Saturday and provides an opportunity for the general public to learn about the latest in health and fitness gear. \nThursday\, April 30: 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm\nFriday\, May 1: 10:00 am to 9:00 pm

SUMMARY:OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon and Delta Dental 5k
DESCRIPTION:UPDATED:   COVID-19: many events have been canceled or postponed\, please check with the organizer for the event status. \n\n\n\nOriginal Post:  On the first Saturday of May\, 35\,000+ runners\, joggers\, walkers and wheelchair racers\, will take over the streets of downtown Indianapolis for The Greatest Spectacle in Running – the Indy Mini. This epic race starts in the heart of downtown Indianapolis like only we could – with an IndyCar leading off each wave. The flat\, fast course is packed with thousands of the nicest volunteers you’ll ever meet and nearly 100 course entertainment acts. What makes the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon even more special is that the course includes a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway (you know\, home of the Indy 500). As participants reach the Speedway’s Yard of Bricks\, many will stop to kneel and kiss the bricks. Funny tradition? Maybe. But tradition is what we’re all about!

DESCRIPTION:The Monthly Meeting of the Indy Ambassadors will be Wednesday\, May 6th\, using a new on-line virtual format for the first time.  The featured organization will be the Eiteljorg Museum.  Beginning at 6 pm and ending around 8 pm. we’ll conduct our general meeting activities and then learn about the offerings of this Indianapolis landmark located in the White River State Park. (Access details were made available\, but were time-limited.)   \nCome and learn how the Eiteljorg Museum tells the stories of the peoples of North America in all their diversity and complexity. It’s a place for historical context\, artistic expression\, new ideas and individual perspectives. Here\, visitors immerse themselves in the diverse cultures of the West and Native America\, and sharing these amazing American stories is what we do at the Eiteljorg.  \nNewcomers are welcome.  There are no fees to join.  Meet new friends with the Indy Ambassadors!  Please note that this an on-line event only and that the Eiteljorg is closed for general admission at this time.
