Volunteers will be parking at a large powerline maintenance area that’s accessible from a smooth\, flat\, gravel driveway. To get to the worksite\, take W Porter Ridge Road west from State Road 43. There’s a double-decker bus parked at the intersection of SR 43 and Porter Ridge Road. Go west about 0.5 miles to Green’s Bluff Road\, a gravel road which will be on your right. Follow Green’s Bluff Road northwest for about 0.5 miles to Pawpaw Road\, which is also gravel. Bear left onto Pawpaw Road and go about 0.3 miles. Go past a No Trespassing sign on a wooden post to a driveway on your left that leads to a green gate. There will be white flagging tape at the driveway and on the gate. Go through the gate and follow the gravel driveway about 0.4 miles through the woods until you emerge onto a large\, flat parking area under the power lines.

SUMMARY:General Meeting: Allison Mansion at Marian University
DESCRIPTION:All are invited to the March General Meeting of the Indianapolis Ambassadors. James Allison\, an Indianapolis entrepreneur and one of the founders of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway\, commissioned the mansion as part of his 64-acre Riverdale estate in the early 1900s. Come learn how volunteers can contribute at this incredible attraction. \nAfterward\, the group is invited to join up for refreshments for our ‘Out After’ at Dawson’s on Main. \nRSVP on our Meetup Event.

SUMMARY:Changing Footprints Donations Sorting on the Northside
DESCRIPTION:Changing Footprint is MOVING! Sorting and bagging assistance is needed from March 11-31. We will be focused on getting our 20\,000 pairs of shoes sorted & rebagged\, and moved out to our storage units. \nChanging Footprints realizes the great need for shoes around the world as protection from diseases and a gateway to education. Because of that need we collect new and gently used shoes for distribution to homeless\, disaster-stricken\, or underprivileged people locally\, nationally\, and internationally regardless of race\, religion\, gender\, or ethnicity. As a nonprofit\, registered 501(c)3 organization. \nAs our reputation has grown\, we have had the pleasure of working with many social service agencies\, church missions\, medical relief teams\, military personnel\, and disaster relief teams\, requesting shoes for their missions. We never lose sight of our mission since we work personally with teams who actually take the shoes and see that they reach those in need. \nSign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/4090f49acad28abf94-changing#/\nor email bob at indybroughton@yahoo.com\nor call Bob at 317-727-4186

SUMMARY:Peace Learning Center's SEL Outreach Programming
DESCRIPTION:On Friday\, March 14th\, Peace Learning Center will partner with the Indianapolis Public Library to offer engaging programs at several library locations. The program is for children ages three to seven years old. The activity will involve a read aloud of the Coloring Monster and guiding participants in a water color painting activity afterwards. Peace Learning Center will provide volunteers with materials\, directions and a short guided video to ensure volunteers are prepared. \nSocial-emotional learning (SEL) is the process of developing skills to understand and manage emotions\, build relationships\, and make responsible decisions. It’s an essential part of human development and education. The book we are using The Color Monster follows a monster character who finds his emotions are all over the place; he feels angry\, happy\, calm\, sad\, and scared all at once! To help him\, a little girl shows him what each feeling means through color. As this adorable monster learns to sort and define his mixed-up emotions\, he gains self-awareness and peace as a result.
