All Indy Ambassadors and Friends WELCOME TO COME! \nGleaners Food Bank works with a network of more than 300 food pantries\, soup kitchens\, schools\, and community partners to fight against food insecurity in Indiana. The Indy Ambassadors have secured an opportunity to assist them in that mission by working with them during one of them upcoming Food Pantry\, Drive-Thru distributions. Volunteers will load cars with pre-boxed food and direct traffic for the contactless\, drive-thru distribution. \nWhy is this project important? DESCRIPTION:Edna Martin Christian Center will host the 4th Annual Goelzer Investment Management Monopoly Tournament on  Saturday October 22 at the center at 2605 E. 25th St. Indianapolis\, IN from 8:00am – 1:00pm. The event attracts players from around the country\, for fun\, and sometimes intense competition. Volunteer training starts at 8:15am SHARP!!! \nBecause this is an official\, sanctioned tournament\, players may not also act as bankers. Therefore\, each table will need a volunteer banker. I’m planning for 64 competitors\, so that means we’ll need 16 bankers. \nIf you’ve played Monopoly before\, it won’t be hard\, though there are some additional tournament rules. As the local partner with USA Swimming\, the IU Natatorium and its volunteer Team Indy will be welcoming approximately 600 of the world’s most elite swimmers to Indianapolis.\nThese elite athletes\, representing approximately 60 countries\, will be competing for prize money on this final leg of the 2022 FINA World Cup Series. DESCRIPTION:Volunteer Callout for Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art “JINGLE RAILS :The Great Western Adventure” model train exhibit Nov. 19th – Jan 16\, 2023 500 West Washington St.\, Indianapolis\, IN \nIt’s the most wonderful time of the year! AKA\, time for our Jingle Rails: The Great Western Adventure model train exhibit! We really rely on our incredible volunteers like you to give our guests an experience they’ll never forget. \nJingle Rails will run from Nov. 19-Jan. 16\, and we need around six volunteers a day for that whole time span! The museum is\, however\, closed on Thanksgiving\, Christmas\, and New Year’s Day. \nYour tasks could include helping at the admissions desk\, greeting guests\, answering questions about the trains\, or helping keep our family area organized. There is truly something for everyone\, so get in the holiday spirit\, and come spend some time with us here at the museum! Over the past 60+ years\, the 500 Festival has grown to become one of the largest festivals in the nation. \nEach year\, 500\,000 Hoosiers and visitors participated in festival activities throughout the month of May. Whether they were athletes running the Mini\, fourth grade students participating in the Education Program\, families enjoying the state’s largest festival for kids\, or spectators being dazzled by one of the nation’s premier parades\, they were there\, celebrating the legacy. SUMMARY:Volunteers Needed for the Indiana Academy of Science's 138th Annual Meeting - March 17-18
DESCRIPTION:The 138th Annual Academy Meeting will take place on Saturday\, March 18th at the JW Marriott across the street from the Indiana State Museum. There will upwards of 500 Indiana scientists\, science educators\, and graduate and undergraduate science students in attendance. \nVolunteer shifts are available on Friday afternoon and Saturday Morning.  There will be a complimentary continental breakfast before the morning shift. \nLinda Buff\, administrative assistant\, will conduct a brief orientation before each shift\, and will be the point of contact for the Indiana Academy of Science. \nVolunteers for the morning shift should report directly to the JW Marriott\, 3rd floor\, by the breakfast area. There will be a short orientation\, a quick breakfast and then you will be placed in your area by 7 a.m.   *Please park in the parking garage at the Indiana State Museum and your parking will be validated. \n  \n  The assignments are: \n            Helping with registration \n            Floor monitors \n            Troubleshooting \n            Help with set up and tear down \nThere may also be opportunities to on March 14 and 15\, assisting with packing items and making badges for the participants. \n   Tuesday & Weds – March 14 and 15 – assist with packing materials and making badges: (ONE or TWO volunteers needed) \n   Friday – March 17 – 11:30 a.m. -Help with set-up at the JW Marriott  (FOUR or FIVE volunteers needed) \n  Saturday –  March 18 – * see assignments above* – (EIGHT volunteers needed from 6:00 am – 12:00 p.m.) \n\nIf you are interested in helping with any of these assignments\, please send an email to Ms. Charlie Shock at cshock@indianamuseum.org  Let her know if you have a specific area you are interested in. You will be provided a tee shirt to wear so she will also need your shirt size.

New York St.\, Indianapolis\, IN Volunteer Shifts each day 5:30am – 10pm \nVolunteers must be 18 years of age and older in all areas of meet operations.  All volunteers must sign up for a minimum of (3) session and participate in a REQUIRED virtual volunteer orientation meeting at 7:00pm EST on Tuesday March 22\, 2023.
