DESCRIPTION:The December Monthly Meeting of the Indy Ambassadors will be at the Phoenix Theatre\,  705 N. Illinois St in Indianapolis at 6 pm. The Phoenix Theatre is a 35-year-old professional\, not-for-profit theatre company with a new 21\,000-square-foot facility that houses two stages\, a visual arts gallery\, and is the home to four smaller not-for-profit performing arts groups.  Phoenix is the only performing arts center and theatrical production company in Indianapolis devoted solely to producing contemporary work. \nA parking lot is available about half a block north of the theater on Illinois (which is one-way north) on the west side of the street.  Parking is free.  Once the lot is full\, there is plenty of metered parking around the building.  Meters are free after 6 pm.

SUMMARY:Indy Ambassadors June Monthly Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The June Monthly Meeting of the Indy Ambassadors will be Wednesday\, June 5\, at Holliday Park\, 6363 Spring Mill Road\, Indianapolis\, beginning at 6 pm.   Come and learn more about one of Indianapolis’ oldest parks.  Holliday Park is located just six miles north of downtown and encompasses 94-acres of beautiful green space.  Visitors can explore the nature center\, play on one of the city’s best\, hard-to-leave playgrounds\, hike more than 3.5 miles of picturesque trails or take a stroll around the one-of-a-kind Holliday Park Ruins.  There is parking at the Park’s main lot. \nNewcomers are welcome.  Light refreshments will be served.  A social gathering at a local restaurant will occur after the meeting.

SUMMARY:Indy Ambassadors November Monthly Meeting and Annual Election
DESCRIPTION:The November Monthly Meeting of the Indy Ambassadors will be Wednesday\, November 6\, at Roudebush VA Medical Center\, 1481 W 10th St\, Indianapolis\, IN 46202.  This is also the annual meeting for the election of the Indy Ambassadors’ officers for the upcoming year.  After the election\, our VA hosts will update us on the services this important group  provides to area veterans and the volunteer opportunities available. \nThe meeting will be in Room C1202\, which is near the D wing of the Hospital.  The closest entrance is nearest 10th St. and on Porto Alegre St. (which runs along the White River to Michigan St.).  There is plenty of on-street parking on Porto Alegre and many handicap spaces in multiple lots near this entrance.  The main parking (free) lot is off St. Margaret’s Drive and is by the A wing of the building.  Information booths and maps are throughout the building should you need assistance.  PLEASE allow extra time for your arrival at the room for election proceedings.

SUMMARY:xZooberance Spring Break Volunteers Needed
DESCRIPTION:This Event takes place on March 26-29\, April 2-5\, and April 9-12.\nMorning and afternoon shifts from 9:30am-1pm and 12:30pm-4pm. Additional shifts will be offered on March 26 for the Member Preview and on April 4 for the Spring Concert.\nAvailable shifts include: Animal enrichment and interactions\, craft and play\, floaters\, flower arranging assistant\, goat exhibit host\, and pollinator activity assistant. \nAnimal Enrichment: Animal Enrichment Assistants will help guests create enrichment for the Zoo’s animals by decorating paper kites. Please invite guests to participate in the activity\, explain purpose of the activity to guests\, assist guest with decorating and keep table and supplies tidy. This is an outdoor/seated position. \nFloater: Assist in several areas\, including the Cheer Garden\, Yoga Inspired by Animals\, Pavilion Greeter and helping with breaks on Member Preview and Headliner days. Please remind guests of when entertainers are getting ready to start. Ensure that stations have event supplies. \nFlower Arranging Assistant: Educate guests on different varieties of flowers. Volunteer should invite guests to participate in the activity\, help keep supplies available and tidy and assist guests if asked. Help retrieve and return supplies needed for building a flower arrangement. Volunteers can also assist with a flower drawing activity. \nGoat Exhibit Host: Invite guests to look at animals. Goat Exhibit Host will help monitor goat area to make sure guests do not touch goats and help answer questions about the goats. Goat talking points will be available. This is an outdoor/standing position. \nPollinator Activity Assistant: Facilitate an active game trying to toss items into corresponding containers. Volunteer should invite guests to participate in the activity\, pulse the line to participate if there is one and help keep activity supplies contained. \nCraft Assistant: Craft Assistants will provide guests with a unique crafting experience that supports conservation and sustainability. Invite guests to participate in making a sustainable craft. Please help keep the table and supplies tidy. This is an outdoor/seated position. \nAfter another long Indiana winter\, we could all use a little xZOOberance. Join us for a spring festival featuring 12 days of fun — no matter what you’re looking for. Need a place for the kids to blow off steam and overcome a little cabin fever? We’ve got huge outdoor musical instruments\, animal matching games and creative crafts like a fun springtime pinwheel to mesmerize some little eyes. Seeking your next epic photo op? Head to the Bicentennial Pavilion for unforgettable décor\, live music and dancing\, along with spring-centric art and activities. And\, of course\, don’t miss encounters with animals—including chickens and goats. Just want to unwind with a beverage? Head to the Cheer Garden anytime\, where we’ll have craft beer and wine for adults plus a special menu featuring Bavarian pretzels\, kettle chips\, picnic snacks and kid-friendly refreshments. With this much to see and do\, there’s no question: It’s time to say sayonara to winter and ring in the season we’ve all been waiting for.
