DESCRIPTION:Camp Support Volunteer Peace Learning Center | Indianapolis\, IN \nAbout the Role \nSummer Peace Camp is a six-week day camp grounded in social emotional learning\, restorative practices\, and community building for youth ages 6–18. We are seeking reliable weekly volunteers to provide hands-on support during two high-need windows of the camp day\, lunch and after care. This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute directly to a positive summer experience for Indianapolis youth. \nWhat You’ll Do \nLunch Support (between 11:30–1:30 PM) \n\nSupervise campers during lunch and the transition to recess or relaxation time\nSupport staff in maintaining a calm\, safe environment\nAssist with lunch distribution as needed\n\nAfter Care Support (between 4:00–6:30 PM) \n\nEngage directly with campers through games\, activities\, and conversation\nSupport a safe and welcoming after care environment\nVolunteers who prefer a behind-the-scenes role can assist with cleanup and next-day prep while staff engage with campers. Just let us know your preference\n\nTime Commitment \nVolunteers are needed Monday through Friday for one or more weeks during the camp season\, June 1st through July 24th. You may volunteer for one window or both. SUMMARY:Global Explorers Summer Youth Programs and Field Trips at the Global Village
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers Needed for Welcoming Artists\, Preparing Classrooms\, Lunch Support.\nOur Global Explorers Program is a summer program that aims to “shrink the globe” by immersing youth participants in a different continent or cultural region each day. This youth program teaches kids to take pride in sharing the story of their culture\, learn to appreciate the cultures of their neighbors\, and discover the similarities that we share \nVolunteers are welcome to come for any part of the day for a few hours or the whole day after clearing a background check. \n\n\nDates: Monday – Friday\, June 8 through July 24\n\n\n8:30 AM – 5:00 PM\n\n\n\n\nVolunteers are welcome to come for any part of the day for a few hours or the whole day after clearing a background check.\n\n\nHere’s some ways you may be involved:\n\n\nWelcoming Artists: Be the first friendly face our guest artists see! SUMMARY:Indianapolis Opera: Lobster Palooza!
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers are needed to help us celebrate the Opera through our 16th annual fundraiser and an experience like no other…\nLobster Palooza!\nLobster Palooza! is an evening of fun\, fabulous food\, and dancing with Indy’s best revelers!  We start off the evening with entertainment and cocktail hour\, followed by a true East Coast Lobster Bake!  Also featured is our “Fund-A-Need” activity to raise money for our Education Outreach fund\, which brings opera at no cost to Indianapolis Public Schools. \nLobster Palooza! is attended by over 200 guests and supports the mission of the Indianapolis Opera. This is a major fundraiser for the Opera Company.  Volunteers would be helping bring opera to Indianapolis and the Central Indiana area.  The Indianapolis Opera has an extensive Education and Outreach department that reaches out to thousands of children. Pennsylvania Street\, Indianapolis\, IN 46205\n(right in the heart of the historic Meridian Kessler Neighborhood)\n\nSHIFT/JOB DETAILS:\n\nGreeters/Appetizer Passers/ Clean-Up During Cocktail Hour -  We need 6-8 people for this job. Shift time is 4-6pm.\nDinner Service:  We need volunteers to assist our kitchen staff/ caterer with serving our guests. These volunteers will also help clear rubbish from tables and keep them tidy. You will also offer our guests excellent customer service by offering water\, and making sure they are comfortable. Shift time is 5:30 – 8:00pm.\nClean-up Crew: You will be helping clean along with the kitchen/catering crew. Duties will include clearing tables after dinner and assisting with general cleaning duties in the Hall. 6-8 people are needed and the shift time is 7:30-10pm\n\nVolunteer sign-up:\n\nVolunteers may contact Kara Davis:  admin@indyopera.org.\n\nVolunteer Requirements:\n\nVolunteers should be able to stand and do light clean-up work for a two hour time frame.\nHelpers wear khaki or black pants and comfortable shoes\, (no open-toe shoes).  Aprons will be provided.\n\nVolunteer Benefits:\n\nA complementary meal (NOT lobster) is provided.\nVolunteers receive a volunteer T-shift.\nAppreciation from the arts community.\n\nParking instruction:\n\nThere is street parking on Pennsylvania.\nThose arriving earlier would likely have a place to park in the Basile Opera Center lot.  However\, it only holds 25 cars.\n\n\nContact Kara Davis:  admin@indyopera.org
